PERSONAL DATA SYSTEM INSPECTION VISIT UNDER SECTION 48 OF THE PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT TO SITTAL CAR PARK SDN BHD

On 3 March 2023, the JPDP Enforcement Team conducted a personal data system inspection visit under Section 48 on SITTAL Car Park Sdn. Bhd, Bandar Sungai Long, Kajang, Selangor.

This session started with a briefing by Mr. A. Muralitharan, Managing Director of SITTAL regarding the processing of customer’s personal data starting from form filling, consent, disclosure, storage period and access.

Among SITTAL’s challenges in managing personal data processing are the latest technological developments, especially related to parking “entry” systems, facial image recognition, cashless & ticketless payment systems that require large data storage.

Also in the JPDP Enforcement Team is Mr. Fazlan Abdullah, Cyber ​​Security Officer from CyberSecurity Malaysia who shared about the latest issues related to data leakage and the main preventive measures which are education and training for staff on cyber security.

The next session involved examining personal data protection systems based on security standards, storage and data integrity standards.
