The Personal Data Protection Notice is a written statement published by the data user to inform the data subject how his personal data processing is carried out. Data subjects require information regarding their personal data processing procedures from data users so that they can make the right choice before submitting their personal data for specific purposes such as obtaining services or products offered by data users. Based on section 7 of the Personal Data Protection Act (Act 709), this notice is a mandatory element that must be provided by data users who process personal data, regardless of the type, form and size of the business. A cursory survey of the current environment found that various types and forms of PDP Notices have been issued by data users for the purpose of complying with the requirements of Act 709. However, has the provision of such notification notices successfully achieved the purpose of this Act? Can the provided notification increase the effectiveness of the data subject’s understanding of the personal data processing procedure by the data user? The research also found that there are data users who are still not sure how to prepare notification notices and how to handle the notification notices.
